Catherine has taught in both elementary and high schools in NB. Her background in Education and her passion for early childhood literacy development are helping to increase Elementary Literacy’s impact in NB. She firmly believes that every child has the right to learn to read and that through collaboration, we can have a tremendous effect on the lives of individuals as well as the communities they call home.

As a recently retired and long-time education and literacy professional, Janis started supporting the ELF program as a trainer for the Greater Fredericton area in the Fall of 2012. She has been instrumental in expanding the program to new schools across the province.

As the manager of the CLEF program since 2012, Joanie has been engaged in activities to develop this positive initiative and to ensure its continuity. She is a strong believer in the strength of communities. As a volunteer herself at a school in her community, she has witnessed the importance of reading in a child’s academic development. A graduate from the Université de Moncton bachelor’s degree in information-communications, Joanie has substantive experience in the school system.

Nancy recently joined the Elementary Literacy Inc. team in a volunteer recruitment and coordination role for the CLEF program. Previously, Nancy worked in the nonprofit sector for over 15 years. Nancy has a volunteer resource management certification and believes through civic engagement we can ensure that every child in New Brunswick has the opportunity they need to develop their reading skills well and thus have access to a brighter future!
